Concerning the detention of a Syrian Kurd by Cypriot authorities and his intended deportation from an encampment outside government buildings in Nicosia during protests regarding Cyprus’ asylum policy. While multiple people were being expelled at once, Court found it was not a collective expulsion as each expulsion was considered individually on the facts that the protestors had their asylum applications rejected and were irregular. However, violations of Article 13 were found, in conjunction with violations of Articles 2, 3, 4 and 5 s(1).
