This case concerns the collective expulsion of approximately 200 people that began near the island of Crete.
On the 20 October 2020 the group of people was aboard a fishing boat with the intention of seeking asylum in Italy,
where they ran into distress near the island of Crete. They requested assistance from the Helenic Coast Guard, who proceeded to
assault them, steal their belongings and threaten them before leaving them stranded aborad two life rafts near the Turkish Coast.
