Police involved 4 men with the Hungarian flag on their uniform, described as "army". Their face was covered in ski masks

The respondent was a young man from Morocco. He and his 3 friends, were climbing the fence towards Hungary around midnight, when a car with 4 people arrived. The respondent described them as “army”, wearing the Hungarian flag on their uniform and ski masks. The respondent explained that, he tried to climb back over the fence towards the Serbian side, but the people in uniforms apprehended him and pulled him to the floor. While his friends managed to escape, the respondent fell on his face and severely hurt his hand (see picture).

Injuries on the respondent’s hands after the pushback.

According to the respondent, he was then pushed to the ground and hit by the four men in uniform for an unknown period of time. At the time of the interview, severe bruises and wounds, reportedly resulting from this violence, were visible on his body. The respondent described that one of the “army men” was pointing a big gun at his head and threatening to shoot him while he was being beaten. They also reportedly stole his money, which was around 100 euros, as well as his phone. After that, they brought him in their car to a place on the fence where he was made to cross back to Serbia close to Horgoš – the respondent didn’t remember any characteristics of the vehicle.
