The respondent left with his two children and two other adult males from Velika Kladusa around 5 pm. The whole group walked across the Croatian border and were in the hills in inner Croatian territory, when they were caught by 2 Croatian police officers. The man was trying to explain their situation to the police officers, that they only wanted to pass through the country to France, where his wife was waiting for them. He was also tried to explain to the police that he had an operation on his heart recently and felt weak, but the only response he received was the officers repeatedly shouting at them: “Shut up!

His children were scared and were crying. The police has not asked any questions about whether the group wanted to apply for asylum, where they were from, and their reasons for entering Croatia. The police did not use any physical violence against any member of the group but stole 180 euros from the respondent and mobile phones from all the adult men. He was trying to explain to the officers that he had all the information about his medical condition and treatment and personal documents saved in his phone, and asking the police to keep the phone for this reason, but the police did not return his phone. Afterwards, the whole group was pushed back to the Bosnian border, from where they walked back to Velika Kladusa where they arrived at around 3am.
