The respondent is a 27 years old man from Syria. He was pushed back from Hungary to Serbia on the 29 of May 2022 at 5 pm. He was traveling with 4 other People on the Move, aged from 25 to 36.
The group walked for about 20-30km in Hungaria and was intercepted about 3km away from Szeged near the train tracks. Reportedly, a group of six “commandos” stopped them. They were described as wearing camouflage clothes, no masks, and carrying massive weapons. He recognized the Hungarian flag on their uniforms.
The group was searched in a violent way. Reportedly, the officers took their belongings out of their bags. Then, three Hungarian police officers, two male, and a female arrived at them. They loaded them into the van they arrived with. No other PoM was inside the van with them.
The group was then driven to the border crossing Roszke – Horgos. There, their pictures were taken. No other information was asked, and no one of the PoM asked for asylum.
“In Horgos they had violent actions, when they tried to get them pictures you have to stand on the wall and separate your legs and he said they beat my legs to separate them”
Their belongings were given back to them before they were forced to cross the border- Then they went back to Serbia.
