The applicants are a Senegalese and a Cuban woman refouled from the Milan Malpensa Airport upon entry. They were detained from three days to five, respectively in the airport. They were denied access to legal counsel. The conditions of detention were lacking minimum hygienic standards. The women were made to sleep in a space together with 10 additional persons and without enough blankets. The Senegalese woman was three-months pregnant and was denied access to medical care when she requested it.
