On August 26th 2020, at around 11 AM, a transit group of 15 people from Afghanistan, all aged between 19 and 30 were evicted from an informal camp located in the wilderness around the town of Šid, in Serbia. The respondents reported that the evicition was perpetrated by seven local police officers. The officers had reportedly evicted this part of the "jungle" before, but the respondents described that this incident was the first burning of belongings in a long time.
