The respondent is a 26-year-old man from Afghanistan. He reports entering the port area of Patras on August 24th 2020, at around 3 PM, and quickly curling up under a truck. Within 15 minutes, he was spotted by a private security officer, described by the respondent as "a rather muscular man wearing military pants and carrying a baton, which is carried by the officer on duty in the port on a daily basis". The violence was then perpetrated between two trucks, so no one else witnessed it. The repondent described being struck with the baton two times on the hips. The resulting injury was so painful that the respondent couldn't sleep the next night.
The respondent was then forced to hand over his phone. The security officer stepped on the phone with his heel, destroying it. Finally, the respondent reported being screamed at in Greek, a language he does not understand, accompanied by gestures of extortion to leave the port area. The testimony closes with some questions from the respondent: "why, instead of simply telling us to leave the area of the port, they humiliate us by breaking a good as precious to us as the cell phone?"
