On the early morning of September 15th, two people on the move were attempting to cross the Tovarnik border crossing from Serbia into Croatia (45.154958299328925, 19.175216526121492). They were hidden in the back of a truck waiting for it to pass through the border control. They said that the police stopped the truck, checked it, and subsequently discovered both of them inside. The officers then made them get out of the truck.

One of the members of the group said that there were “two police, one bad and one good”. After they both exited the truck, one of the members said that he was very scared so he tried to run away from the police. He reported that the police chased after him and also caught him. The respondent said that after they caught him, two of the police hit him with their batons on his shoulder and on the side of his body. He said that this wasn’t the first time the police had beaten him. After two officers beat him, they sent both of the group members directly back over the border into Serbia.
