In the evening of December 2, the respondent, a twenty-four-year-old Moroccan man, entered Hungary from Serbia near the Horgos-Roeszke border crossing. Shortly thereafter he was stopped by two Hungarian policemen. "They tied my hands behind my back and forced me to the ground," he said. "They began to beat me by kicking me. In my face, my back, my stomach. Everything was swollen, and blood started to flow." As they were beating him, the policemen yelled at him, "Fuck you! Fuck you! Go back to Serbia!" A car with two other policemen came. "Now there were four who were beating me," he continued. "They beat me and beat me. They spat in my face." Later he was pushed back to Serbia at Horgos-Roeszke. Three days later, at the interview, the respondent's face was still swollen and heavily bruised. He complained about dizziness and a buzzing sound in his ears.
