About 8 am on January 25, 2019, a group of 13, three of them minors, tried to cross the border from Serbia to Hungary, close to Kelebija. When around 20 Hungarian officers found them, they started to beat the group of 13. Further, they threw cold water and snow on them on a day with temperatures below zero. Some of the younger individuals asked for asylum, but the officers ignored their question. Without taking fingerprints, the people on the move were then pushed back to Serbia. The victims needed medical support from the reporting organization, such as pain killers.
